We arrived at 20:45 at night and was told there was a four hour wait. My dad is in his 80s with heart failure, kidney and liver problems, and had blood in urine. He only got out of hospital with same problems 3 days ago. We saw triage at around 21:45 and was told the doctor would see us for bloods but could be up to another 3 hours.
After midnight i ask if somebody could change my dads catheter as is was completely full but it took another 25 minutes to sort him, in this time his urine was completely dark red. We were really starting to worry by this point. The blood taken from the catheter was taken to be tested at this point but we were still not seen by a doctor.
This poor man who worked and paid into the system until he was 70yo sat with his dignity in tatters, in pain, and basically treated like a number instead of a human being. I feel this is a disgrace. I know the doctors and nurses are trying their best but it feels really badly managed.
