I was given an ‘appointment’ which means a dr will call you at no specific time, sometime on the given day. Fair enough. What I didn’t expect was to be called before the stated surgery opening time. I can’t call them before 8.30am but they can call me before then when I’m not expecting it! Anyway I missed the calls, they were before 8.30am as I said and received a text message with a link asking me to respond if I still needed to speak with the dr. I sent a reply, within the hour, asking them to please call back. They never did. I suffered a mental health crisis at the weekend and had to call 111, this will be on my medical records and the surgery clearly couldn’t be less bothered. Also, I have been without my blood pressure medication for months because they need to be reviewing and I’m still waiting for that. Furthermore the receptionists contradict me at every point, don’t listen and will try and argue!!! They also told me I hadn’t responded to the text when I definitely had. This practice is going downhill fast and it just gets worse with every time I try to deal with them. I will definitely be leaving asap because of the poor service from the gp’s and terrible attitude of the reception staff. The voice message when you call goes on about the demand and the pressures blah blah. I am a care worker, I am under paid, on a zero hours contract with no sick pay, also under constant pressure, as are most working people. Welcome to the working class, that’s life for the majority, always has been, so just get on and do your job properly! Wish we all had your wages and working conditions. Stop shoving the onus on the patients and do your job properly and with curtesy.
