During my stay as an informal patient, I was in the process of changing medication and needed the time to recover from flair ups.
In the few weeks that I was there, I was impressed by the constant support from the nursing staff and the occupational therapist team. In particular, I was pleased with the different arts and crafts to get involved with, the spacious facilities e.g. beautiful outdoor space for nature walks, toasted jam and toast for supper time, regular blood pressure checks and cleanliness.
I am also thankful for the daily support and advice that the nursing staff shared regarding medication, side effects and the helpful exercise advice from the physiotherapist team.
Canterbury high-street is only 10-mins away from the hospital, so as an informal patient you have the right to visit local places independently. The town has a great library and a variety of top restaurants to choose from, along with great high-street fashion brands.
I wish all the staff at St Martin's Hospital a big thank you and all the best with their duty of care to patients on their road to recovery.
Thank you and take care :-)
