"The care had been nothing short of incredible"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department University Hospital Wishaw / Paediatrics wards (19 & 20)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son took very unwell very quickly. He had orbital cellulitis and extensive sinusitis. He eventually required surgery.

From A and E to Wishaw ward 20 to Wishaw ward 19, the care had been nothing short of incredible and has made what has been an extremely distressing time for us as a family as smooth as possible.

I just want to thank all the doctors, A and E Dr Redfern, ENT Dr Crosby and Dr Giovanni , paediatrics Dr Sie, and Ophthalmology Dr Brown, and the angels/nurses to helped him in Ward 20. They work tirelessly, I was shocked how much they do on a daily basis and they looked after him so well, but also looked after my husband and I too. My son has also been treated well under ward 19 as an outpatient for daily IV antibiotics. Thank you to you all for fixing my son.

Dear Alison05

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave feedback on this Care Opinion platform. I am sorry to read that your son took unwell and needed to use the services of the Emergency Department here at University Hospital Wishaw. I was delighted to read your positive feedback around how the staff treated your son at such a worrying time for you. I indeed wish your son a speedy recovery.

I will be delighted to provide this feedback to the Emergency team, and especially to Dr Redfern, whom you have personally named. The Emergency team are such a committed and devoted group of staff who strive to deliver exceptional person centred care every day for our patients.

Best wishes

Faith
