"I couldn’t ask for better support and care"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as the patient),

From start to finish of my labour and giving birth I was given the most support and the best care by midwife Nichola and student midwife Kayleigh  at Wishaw General Hospital.

I felt so at ease and comfortable throughout the full time and we had some wee laughs along the way as well.

After delivering my baby I was taken to theatre as I had a lot of damage and trauma from the birth. I felt really really anxious by this and felt scared but Nichola assured me everything would be okay and she came and sat at my side the full time. She held my hand and supported me by talking to me and checking I was feeling okay.

I couldn’t ask for better support and care from all of the staff at Wishaw but Nichola and Kayleigh in particular were amazing from start to finish and they deserve the recognition of how amazing they are at their jobs.

Dear guidepx35,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. I am delighted to read you have experienced the compassionate and kind care we strive to deliver. I can only imagine the distress, worry and anxiety you were experiencing post birth as you were taken to theatre and delighted to read the support you were given by Nichola and Kayleigh.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience and please know we will share your feedback with the midwifery team.

I hope you are recovering well and enjoying all the newborn cuddles

Take care and thank you

Cheryl
