I had a swollen toe, which was spreading to my foot.
The receptionist who dealt with me was professional, polite and showed empathy and triaged me for a phone appointment before 1pm on the same day (despite the surgery being really busy - I was call no. 26 and as promised I was given a ring back to save me holding on the phone).
Got a phone call from the doctor an hour later enabling me to give a brief description and she offered to see me at 10am that same morning. The Doctor diagnosed the issue and ordered a blood test via the appointment and results came back the same day and a prescription written by the end of the day and sent to Wells Pharmacy (next door).
In my experience this doctors surgery is ‘first class’ with also a special mention to the clinics which form a programme of yearly blood and urine tests (amongst others). They are a real credit to the NHS.
This is compared to other stories I hear from friends comparing Mile Oak clinic to others, the Mile Oak clinic is always head and shoulders above anyone else’s experience.
On a negative note, the excellent work at the surgery I felt was let down by the pharmacy next door who told me that even though they had my prescription was with them at 4pm (Thursday), it would not be ready until Monday!!
Fortunately, common sense prevailed and they agreed to Friday mid day. I realise they are busy (pharmacy were uncontactable by phone) - but 4 days for a prescription is poor! This was my second issue with Wells after previously paying and ordering a vaccine on line. Gave up with this in the end.
"Fantastic service"
