"An angel in respiratory reception"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

Today 8.5.24 I arrived at the respiratory clinic only to find out it had been cancelled at short notice i.e 5hrs. before, and I wasn't made aware. I arrived in extreme pain following a diagnoses of a slipped disc only the day before and am awaiting ASAP surgery. I was treated well and with full apology, firstly by a young man who had been rearranging the said clinic. Plus, my bonus. The young lady behind the desk got a wheelchair for me, and pushed me all the way back to my car. I received generosity from both of them, they made the day better. I'm sorry that I am unable to name them, they deserve it, lost in a sea of hopelessness....

Cancelled Appointment & Staff Attitude

We are sorry that your appointment was cancelled at short notice, and you did not find out until you attended the hospital for your appointment, which must have been very frustrating.

I am pleased to read from your comments that the staff on duty supported you with re-arranging your appointment and with the provision of a wheelchair and that the member of staff pushed you back to your car.

Your feedback has been shared with the Outpatient Department, and the Department Manager will be sharing your feedback with all the team.
