"The care was underwhelming"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Ear, Nose & Throat (ward 3b)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was in with a severe case of tonsillitis, the care was underwhelming, it felt like we were put in a room and unless it was antibiotic time no one came near. The nursing assistants were fantastic and nothing was ever too big an ask however the nurses attitude was terrible. One in particular I witnessed speaking to one of the student nurses so poorly to the point they were in tears. Shocking and I feel something needs to be changed!

Dear Carly22222

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

I am sorry to hear your son was unwell and required admission for treatment.

I hope he is now recovering well at home.

I would like to apologise on behalf of RHC for the experience you have described as this is not the experience we aim to provide for any child or family in our care.

Feedback is vital to help us learn and improve for the future therefore I would be grateful if you would like to discuss this further with myself.

Please contact me on-

Many thanks
