I have been a patient since N F and P ( not allowed to use names apparently) , so have experienced many receptionists over the years. Over 60 years, yesterday was the height of ignorance, the pharmacy rang me saying I had to get an emergency script immediately. I relayed the message politely to be told there’s no chance of that. Then I got the ins and outs of the politics of surgery. Seriously!!! then she said the line was bad and the phone went dead. The pharmacist rang again so I repeated the conversation her response was you can’t go without this medication for that length of time. Did you get her name, she didn’t give it , no surprise there with that attitude. As a care provider we get scrutinised on everything we do and reported. I have never felt the need to review my surgery before but the level of professionalism has dropped dramatically in my experience. The only statement I wanted to hear was we will try our best to sort this for you, not war and peace. I felt drained after that onslaught, not a good experience at all.
