Myself and my partner were in the ERI for a kidney transplant - I was donating mine to him. After the surgery, we spent two days in the renal High Dependency Unit and I cannot fault any of the care we received here. Everyone was so helpful and so lovely. The amount of patience displayed by the nurses was really awe-inspiring and they did everything they could to make sure we both recovered as efficiently as possible.
We were then moved into ward 206 where the care was just as good. The nurses were all lovely and very committed to our care. One day we had a bank nurse on and it was their first day in a ward - everything still ran very smoothly and unless he'd said we wouldn't have even known. I had to go back in for a night as well and everyone was so nice and supportive, even when I got emotional and stressed about the whole ordeal.
All in all, the care provided was exceptional and cannot fault anyone in how we were looked after. Big thanks to Jen and the rest of the nursing staff, doctors and surgeons (I am terrible with names - so sorry!) that made our surgery and recovery very quick and smooth.
"The care provided was exceptional"
