"Looked after our daughter in her hour of need"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter recently attended A&E at Hairmyres Hospital due an injury that occurred when playing Rugby. She was triaged to Minor Injuries. The Nurse (Carol) was amazing from start to finish, She kept my daughter calm and reassured even when she felt scared and in pain. The x-ray confirmed she had broken both bones in her arm and a plaster cast applied. It was a lovely touch that she got to see her x-rays before and after the cast was applied. Thanks again to the staff for looking after our daughter in her hour of need,

Dear Lyn83

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on your daughters care in A&E after she was injured during Rugby. I am sorry to read that she sustained fractures to her arm. I hope that she is managing well with her cast and that she is on a journey to recovery.

Carol-Ann will be pleased to read your comments and know that she kept your daughter calm and provided reassurance. It must have been a scary experience for your daughter and also a worrying time for yourself. Thank you again for your kind words.

Your feedback will be shared with Carol-Ann and the wider team.

Best wishes to you and your daughter. Wishing her a speedy recovery

Lise
