After undergoing courteous service at ward 10 at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, I expected the discharge lounge to be a favourable end. I was dreadfully wrong.
After the medicines turned up, one of the nurses lacked any empathy and was rude to me. I asked them to explain how to use an inhaler and they did attempt to show it to me once. I needed another explanation but the second time they appeared to get frustrated and said I wasn't listening.
This is a terrible statement to make to someone who is listening and observing but needs time, kindness and understanding would have been appreciated. There was no apology or I will get someone else to help you, I could hear and sense their frustration. I felt they just wanted me to leave.
As I left the ward crying bitterly because I wasn't treated with respect or understanding or care.
"I wasn't treated with respect or understanding or care."
