My daughter was referred to the wound clinic at Coatbridge Health Clinic following major surgery. She was anxious and feeling overwhelmed. The clinic nurse, Paula, was outstanding! She was professional, caring and really listened to my daughter. She took time to explain procedures, and what would happen during the appointments.
Paula went above and beyond to alleviate my daughter's anxieties by linking with my daughter's hospital team and giving my daughter thinking time to process the information. Every attempt was made to plan continuous care with the same nurse, but understandably the busy schedules could not ensure this.
In support for my daughter, Paula took the time to introduce another member of the team to allow the connection to be made and share the plan for her care. This was again invaluable in building confidence in my daughter and also empowering her knowing that her extended care team listened, cared, and really understood the holistic needs of my daughter on the road to her recovery.
