"Put me at ease with reassurance and communication"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Paediatric surgery ( Wards 3A & 3B)

(as a parent/guardian),

I brought my son in to have a nose fracture manipulated back into place.

The admission staff were super efficient and we were seen not long after arrival by the surgeon and anaesthetist. The theatre team were superb. I went down to the anaesthetic room with my son where we were shown empathy and kindness as he was sedated. The recovery team were excellent and put me, mum, at ease with reassurance and communication.

Overall what I initially thought was going to be a harrowing experience turned into the total opposite. This is definitely a vocation to these staff, a love for their job and the children they look after.

Thank you all, from a Mum.

Dear cyclonepk96

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

I am sorry to hear your son had an injury that required treatment with ourselves and I hope he is now recovering well at home.

I am delighted to hear that your time with us was such a positive one and it is lovely to read the way in with you describe the experience so kindly.

I means so much to our staff to know the children and families have a positive experience whilst in our care and I will ensure this fantastic feedback is shared with them.

Many thanks

Emma McGinlay
