I asked for a medication review, with a doctor, following recent experience with 111, practice visit and hospitalisation. This was arranged following a persistent request at reception. I saw a doctor who was very understanding and agreed that I had not received the correct medication, or indeed received a proper examination to determine my condition following a visit to Gosport War Memorial Hospital on Easter Sunday. The diagnosis was inflamed Polymyalgia Rheumatica and the Prednisolone medication was increased 5 fold for 5 days. This proved incorrect and did not improve my condition.
I had an appointment on 05 April to review my condition and was subsequently diagnosed with Sciatica! I was subsequently admitted to hospital with sepsis. As it was not clear what dose of Prednisolone the Consultant stabilised it at 5mg.
At my review of 2nd May with the doctor it was agreed that I should remain on 5mg for a month and then reduce by 1mg at four weekly intervals. The appointment, I thought was most constructive, and positive.
