"so uncomfortable "

About: Southmead Hospital

I am a 17 year old girl and I went to an appointment booked via my gp due to an issue prior to a medical abortion. this appointment was at 10:30 and i went in and told them my name. they had no record on this system for it but did have a note book with it. they then told me to sit down and wait which then 2 hours later they ask for my address. they then told me they can’t find anything etc. i finally got a room where 2 nurses ask why i was here so i explained. then one asks for a urine sample and blood tests. she leaves with not a word 20 minutes later someone comes in asking to do my blood pressure and pulse then leaves with not a word. 15 minutes later a doctor comes in once again asking what i was there for when i watched my gp call the person on call and told them everything and wrote it down. she then asks to do a vaginal exam (wasn’t there for that but i understand they’re checking things) she then asks for a blood test which i told her i already have she asked if i did yesterday and i said no a ladies just come in and she was confused. she then tells me i need to come back in a few days for a scan bare in mind that’s all i went there for. she told me they have no space today which i replied with so why was i booked in for an appointment today for a scan. if they didn’t have time why did i come. there was no communication from any of the doctors and nurses however the receptionist was lovely. i was sent off my way and i burst into tears all the way home. if young people get told they’re old enough to see doctors without their parents hospitals need to cater to that. how are they allowing a 17 year old girl coming in with problems due to an abortion and make her feel so uncomfortable and uneasy absolutely unacceptable.
