"Recent attendance with elderly friend"

Just wanted to send some some positive feedback and appreciation for all the staff working within the eye clinic.

I recently accompanied my elderly friend to attend the clinic for minor day surgery and was very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness shown by the staff.

My friend is in her 80s and very hard of hearing and finds attending appointments challenging, with the experience quite often leaving her feeling overwhelmed and anxious when she is unable to hear conversations and information communicated to her. However, the staff were most understanding of this and allowed me to sit near the entrance to the surgery room so that I would be on hand for reassurance and support.

The staff were very patient with her and took time out to explain everything clearly and checked her understanding. Staff also enquired as to whether her hearing difficulties were being addressed by services already, which she assured them it was, which also showed a real sense of concern and empathy.

The service we received made the whole experience much more comfortable and positive. Thank you to all the lovely staff involved. Your kindness was very much appreciated.
