"My daughter in her hour of need"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a relative),

I'd like to express my heartfelt appreciation to a remarkable paramedic named Dominic, whom I believe is stationed in Coleraine.

One evening, my daughter, who resides with me and struggles with long-standing mental health issues, unfortunately overdosed. Discovering her the following morning in a lethargic and unwell state, I immediately dialed 999 for help. Within a remarkably short time, Dominic, accompanied by a female colleague, arrived on the scene. With a calm demeanor and reassuring words, Dominic swiftly took charge of the situation, conducting a thorough assessment of my daughter's condition, which thankfully appeared stable.

Despite Dominic's best efforts to convince her otherwise, my daughter adamantly refused to be transported to A&E. Sensing our distress, Dominic didn't hesitate to take additional steps to ensure my daughter received the care she needed. He reached out to her GP and social worker, coordinating an alternative plan that spared her the ordeal of a hospital visit. This compassionate gesture brought immense relief to my daughter and our entire family.

Dominic's exemplary professionalism, coupled with his genuine concern and resourcefulness, exceeded our expectations. We are profoundly grateful to him and the ambulance service for their unwavering dedication and invaluable support during a challenging time.
