My wife suffered a stroke whilst on holiday in Perth in Scotland. The ambulance crew attended quickly and arrived at Ninewells Hospital.
From the moment we arrived the level of care she received was exceptional. The initial diagnosis was made, and my wife was transferred up to Ward 5 Acute Stroke. The staff on the ward were amazing, making sure we were kept informed at every stage of her care. From the very first night she was looked after by 2 nurses called Megan, Lorna and Rachel who looked after her, putting her at ease at a very confusing time, not knowing what happened and where she was.
I wish I could remember all the names of the wonderful staff that supported us whilst in hospital - from Physiotherapist Rachel and Hayley, Sarah Speech Therapy, and Fiona in Occupational Health to ward staff Laura, Charley, Jack, Inga, and Chika. To mention just a few. If I have missed anybody, sorry.
Throughout her stay the level of care was over and beyond our expectations, every single nurse on every shift could not have done any more, but one nurse was always there to wipe away tears, give encouragement and lift our spirits whenever we needed it. Gill, we will never forget her kindness and empathy and totally professional attitude and commitment to her job. She is a credit to the hospital.
We are back home now, and my wife is recovering well. I can never thank you enough for all your support.
Thank You
