My mum was admitted through A&E Altnagelvin in November 2023. She was transfered to ward 22 where she stayed for 14 days. In that time she was not given any coeliac options for lunch or dinners as there was none available. She was also not given a lactose free option of milk, yoghurt or cheese. We as a family had to provide all her meals for the entirety of her stay.
I think this is a disgrace. There are inpatients in Altnagevlin with all types of food allergies so why is there no food options for these people?
