"Helpful, kind, enthusiastic and caring"

Both my daughters were born into a family that are bilingual but I had noticed they were not speaking in time with the milestones throughout their development.  I had highlighted this to the health visitor and was referred to Pamela.

Here Pamela worked with both my children and with carefully tailored guidance and help she taught me how to help communicate and develop their speech. 

I do feel the my first child took a lot longer to develop speech perhaps because she heard both parents speak 2 languages at home. This made it difficult for her to speak in one language. Only when we realised we started to speak English only and with the help of Pamela we were able to focus on grammar etc. When my 2nd child was at the age of speech we made sure we spoke only in English and feel this helped her speak much faster than my first child. Both children still get help from extra classes at school and nursery but I feel they have now got to a level were they are communicating effectively. Pronunciation was also a big focus. 

I personally feel that the Speech therapy service is very effective and I have learned so much from Pamela over the years as she helped both my children. I want to say the service is amazing and I hope this helps other families. I definitely recommend it. It definitely helps to start early as the child picks up the correct grammar etc. I would like to say a big 'thankyou' to Pamela for helping both my children to develop their speech, she has been so helpful, kind, enthusiastic and caring. We will never forget and will always appreciate it.
