I was taking my mum to clinic 6 eye clinic in Altnagelvin which has moved from where it use to be in main outpatients.
After walking around the department with my elderly mum trying to find clinic 6, Mum then got anxious that she was late for her appointment and was getting sore as she can not walk that far unaided.
I seen a nurse in a room in the outpatients department and ask for assistance.
The lovely nurse give us the directions but seen that mum was sore and informed us it was still big of a walk to go.
She offered to go get mum a wheelchair and escort us around to the department.
There was no wheel chairs at the main outpatients department so the nurse had to go around to the main hospital get a wheelchair and come back to us while we waited on her.
She took us around to clinic 6, but at this stage we were 5 mins late for the appointment.
If it wasn't for the lovely nurse that day we would have been at a complete loss, cause there was no way mum could walk that far without being sore and breathless and i would not have know where to get a hospital wheelchair.
Awful signage for people with sight problems and far to far away for patients with mobility problems. I feel a new entrance to the clinic and new signage is very much needed.
"Terrible signage"
