"2024 care based on a 2022 budget"

My experience with Glasgow City Council and Social Work has been a gruelling journey.

Having a degenerative condition, still working and trying to manage my care in 2024 based off of a 2022 budget - that social work finance will not budge on - is wearing me down.

I'm constantly fighting to make my care work for me and some of my challenges are explained below.

The strain on my day to day life is crippling. Glasgow City Council are destroying me financially and social work phone me at least twice a day for more information - some details which have already been given previously.

In a nutshell, I had care agency cost increases and changes in autumn 2022. No one at Social Work would deal with me as my assigned SW was on Maternity leave. I had to cut my care to the bone as I work 3 days a week and have complex needs at home.

The Care Agency that I was with forced North West Social Work to assign me a SW as myself and my advocate had failed to get a SW in place. That happened in summer 23.

In the few months they were with me they tried to sort out my care budget and care contribution. They were progressing it forward, then after 3 annual leaves, they went off on long term sick leave.

I now have another Social Worker. They assessed me as needing 41 hours a week. They supposedly want to give me 15 minutes a week extra on top of my 35 hours a week. 

My care is not meeting my needs. NWSW have asked me for all my Invoices from 2021, which i have duly sent them.

They were meant to be giving me a new budget last week, then it was today, I've heard nothing.

They call me at work at least 3 times a week. I get constant e mails, asking me more and more questions.

They have also been contacting people without my consent.

I could go on, but that is a small fraction

1. Agency costs increased autumn 22

2. More changes in spring 23

3. No one would dealing with my case for 9 months despite many calls and emails.

4. NWSW forced to assign me a SW in summer 23

5. SW goes off on long term sick leave leaving my case quarter done.

6. New worker assigned.

7. Review No 3, People called without my consent, 3+ years of paperwork asked for.

8. My Care Agency pulled out of Glasgow, had a month to source another one.

9. Get a new Agency, but SW still have not given me my budget amount after 3rd review.

10. No budget amount given to me to date

11. Client Contribution up each week. I work part time and I'm in financial straits.

Sadly, this isn't even the full extent I have been dealing with.
