About: Raigmore Hospital / General Surgery

(as a service user),

I had my gallbladder removed about two weeks ago. The staff were great and amazing at Inverness hospital but one thing I did not received package on how to look after my wounds and how much time I need off work as I know other people received there package after surgery.

Thank you for your post highlighting your recent experience during your admission to Raigmore Hospital.

Please accept our apology for the delay in responding to your concerns.

I have now received feedback from the Service Manager. Mr Riddle wishes to offer you an apology for the lack of information provided to you. You should have been supplied with a leaflet which details a large range of topics, which include after care and recovery timeframes.

The service have been reminded to send this information to all patients when the decision has been made to list the patient for surgery.

Feedback from patients is extremely helpful, and can assist the services in making adjustments, and improvements. Your experience therefore has been very helpful.

Thank you for your kind words regarding the staff. They will appreciate you taking the time to convey your thanks.
