"Care, advice, and very helpful & dedicated district nursing sister"

About: Lurgan / District Nursing

(as a service user),

I am a patient new to the social care community. I started receiving domicilliary care in  my home. It did not run smoothly, and continues to have teething problems. I felt huge anxiety, and struggled with this new chapter. My daughters tried to contact my newly appointed social worker, but was never able to speak to them directly.  My daughters were frustrated also, trying to contact the right services.

I was recently prescribed a new medication, which was going to be administered by my local district nursing team. I met a district nursing sister called Seline, who is a very dedicated, friendly, and caring person.

Whilst Seline was with me I explained the frustrations my family & I were experiencing. Seline responded by asking me to leave it with her, and she would  make some enquires.

Later that same day, I received a telephone call and arrangements were made for a social worker to visit the next day. My meeting was very informative and quelled any further anxiety. I was very relieved.

I am so thankful to Seline for her help & understanding. Seline depicts what the NHS is supposed to represent, and why  I felt the need to post this.

Good Afternoon

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us.

I am so sorry to hear that your new domiciliary care plan is not running smoothly yet and adding to the anxiety you are already experiencing coming to terms with this 'new chapter in your life'.

I also wish to acknowledge the frustration your Daughters were feeling trying to navigate our service and get speaking to your Social Worker directly.

Thankfully Seline, your District Nurse, was able to support with this and you were contacted that afternoon regarding a planned visit by your Social Worker for the next day. I am pleased to hear that this visit was informative and has helped alleviate some of your anxiety.

I have spoken with Seline's Manager and she is aware of your wonderful feedback.

Once again I would like to apologise to you and your Family for the difficulties you had contacting your Social Worker and will follow up regarding this next week with the Social Work Manager.

Wishing you well and hoping your Domiciliary care plan is sorted soon.

Take care

Kind Regards

Ann
