Following GP advice I was sent to Ninewells to be checked over due to an exacerbation of my asthma. I was directed to the Ambulatory unit for ax, started on nebulisers, had swabs taken, bloods, x-rays & ecg all done. Decision was made to be kept in overnight due to sats & breathing issues.
I was moved to the short stay unit & quickly given a bed. Nurses were immediately attentive & helped to settle me down as I was slightly panicked and concerned as my asthma has always been so mild and controlled with medication.
The staff were all fabulous from the minute I walked into the ward until I was discharged home the following afternoon.
Every member of staff, not just nurses. The domestics, healthcare assistants & the specialist respiratory nurse.
All an absolute credit to the service.
Especially Cara during the day, Caitlyn overnight, Jodi and Lynne and the one girl who made the best toast and cup of tea at night for me, I can’t believe I didn’t get her name.
I haven’t been on a proper ward over night from when I had my son nearly 16 years ago. We are so lucky to have such wonderful staff in NHS Tayside.
Thank you so much.
