"Whilst the appointment was efficient, I didn't feel rushed"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Acorn Paediatric Ambulatory Unit Dalriada Urgent Care

(as a parent/guardian),

I had to contact out of hours for my daughter. Quickly received a telephone call from the nurse triaging, this lady was very helpful. I then received another call from a GP to discuss my daughter’s symptoms. I was made an appointment with the GP for a couple of hours later.

We were met by the most pleasant lady at reception and then seen very quickly by Dr Smith based at Antrim Hospital. She was fantastic with my little girl, the chaos that comes with a toddler didn’t faze her and she made us both feel so at ease. Whilst the appointment was efficient I didn’t feel at all rushed. We got a prescription and were on our way quickly and confidently with any questions I had answered.

Thank you very much!

Dear Jo231,

I am the Paediatric Lead Nurse with responsibility for the Paediatric Ambulatory Department at Antrim Area Hospital and I delighted that your experience of care from your initial phone call to being seen at Antrim was such a positive one. I will pass on your compliments to Urgent Care and to the staff here in Antrim as I know such comments really to make a difference. I hope that your daughter has now fully recovered.

thankyou

Peter Johnston
