"Superb receptionists but awful GP service"

About: Foxhill Medical Centre

If you want to see a nurse - no problem, if you want to see a GP - impossible - I haven't managed to see a GP here since before Covid. I rang three weeks constantly at 8.30 every morning only to be met by "sorry all appointments have been allocated try again tomorrow or go to Drop In"! You are my GP not the drop in, you are 5 minutes from where I live, not 5 miles from my home. Before Covid this GP practice was faultless now its impossible to get an appointment. I have nothing but praise for the receptionists who go out of their way to help you with anything but their hands are tied if there are no appointments available on the screen to give you. Ridiculous. The morning drop in should be reinstated as its perfect for people who work. There's not much point having a call back from a GP who says can you come in at 11 am when you're 6 miles away at work! Unacceptable

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our services and for your lovely comments about our Reception Team. I am sorry to hear that you were unable to obtain an appointment at a suitable time.

Whilst we are unable to go back to having a drop in session like we had many years ago, we have been working incredibly hard to implement our new total triage system which was introduced on 17th April 24 which provides fairer access. If you have any questions about the new system please don't hesitate to speak to one of my colleagues or look on our website for more info.

Best wishes
