I went to hospital in Kendal near to where I was holidaying having had a bad fall while hill walking. It was a Friday evening around 8pm. Everyone I met, from the receptionist, the triage nurse, the radiographer - Carly - and the plasterer Raz and Dr Munsch were all friendly, positive, upbeat and attentive. Everything was explained to me in terms of what I needed to do / not do and what to do when I got back to Scotland.
On the Sunday, when back home I had to go to A&E to check in with the Orthopaedics team at Lambert. Again - everyone I had contact with was lovely, the nurses, the porters, radiographers and Dr Macleod. I felt well informed and taken care of. There was a lovely calm yet efficient energy.
2 days later I had to return to have Dr Challamous look at new X-rays and ensure my break was "stable" . My plaster was taken off by Elddwen and Arlene. They could not have been nicer. They had quite a tough job to get the plaster off my leg. I was very aware my foot had not been cleaned at all in days. I asked if it could be given a wee wipe. Arlene was so kind and caring. As well as cleaning and drying my foot she put some cream on it too. Definitely over and above what was required. They made sure I had what I needed in terms of information about the boot, contact numbers if I was unsure about anything .
All in all - I feel very cared for, well informed and impressed by everyone I had contact with. Thank you all. You do a great job!
