Disappointing level of care provided by the night shift nurse. They barely seemed to listen to any concerns voiced by myself or others in the room. Little to no empathy shown.
I struggled to get out of bed day 2 after abdominal hysterectomy, I was in tears almost standing before the nurse even acknowledged me (they were standing in the next bed space taking a BP). They offered me pain relief once I was on my feet in tears.
I observed them walking away from an elderly patient struggling walking to the toilet and not even open the door for them. That's basic care/courtesy.
This is a very busy clearly not adequately staffed ward area. I feel sorry for the staff coping with that, but this particular nurse really needs to show some empathy for people in pain.
