2nd time in 2hrs having excision of vulval lesion.
I was very nervous on arrival and the receptionist in the Maternity building walked me to the correct building which was lovely. She wished me luck. Then the lovely receptionist at the Day Surgery Unit made me feel more relaxed and she had a little chat to me before someone else arrived a few minutes later. When passing by, she said let me know when your leaving to say bye. So lovely.
Then in the ward, the nurses were funny, chatty and very professional. The main nurses were Carolanne, Risha and Susan. It was a very nice ward with lovely patients also. We were all wishing others well.
At theatre everyone I saw and spoke to whilst feeling groggy were so smiley and lovely. As you can tell, everyone was "lovely".
All this made me calmer esp as I have a condition CRPS that causes more pain and one of the biggest reasons for being very nervous on the day.
Camt forget the main person. Surgeon Dr Flanagan. Amazing and lovely. Very professional and I felt comfortable with her doing my procedure esp as my surgeon the first time had left and he was great, but was very thankful having my new surgeon being on par with humour, being real and professional.
"Staff were funny, chatty and very professional"
