"Never explained what was happening"

About: Sexual Health Services - North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent (Open Clinic)

(as a service user),

Staff member really did not seem to want to perform this procedure, tried to talk me out of having it multiple times and said they didn’t want to do it.

They asked who had made me make this decision. I told them it was while I was getting my smear I asked for advice and they said that that person was wrong and that I shouldn’t be doing this.

They were very harsh, decided theirself that they would give me the 5-year option instead of the 10-year because they didn’t think it would be necessary. Never explained what was happening, didn't give me anything to clean up with, rushed me out of the room afterwards.

No chance to ask questions, unsure what to do about implant, unsure when it’s safe to have sex, unsure how quick it works. Did inform me to stop taking the pill despite having conversation about how I had the implant.

Spelt my name wrong at the start did not include autism diagnosis as a special requirement, ticked that they verbally informed me things when they hadn’t.

0/10 experience and would never go back.
