"Compassion and professionalism"

I was referred for day surgery with general anaesthetic and after completing NHS Elsie app I was initially given an appointment for further checks. The Pre-Assessment team were excellent at answering my questions about my planned surgery. 

I was then told the date for my surgery.

From the moment of arriving I was treated with kindness and respect.  I was very nervous about my planned surgery for various reasons however all staff reassured me throughout and helped me feel more confident.  From receptionist to staff nurse Rosalind on arrival as well as anaesthetist Mr Cunningham? and his anaesthetic assistants Andrew and Olivia, to consultant Dr Minhas I felt in very safe hands. In recovery I was cared for by a lovely nurse who I unfortunately can't remember her name as I had just woken however Bolaj in aftercare was equally caring.  All staff in Day Surgery at Hairmyres should be commended for their care and compassion as well as professionalism.
