I attended the Royal Maternity department in February for assessment and was admitted to the labour ward at approximately 10:30pm. From the moment I was triaged I received excellent care and was kept informed whist the admission process was completed.
I was looked after by several midwives due to shift changes etc and each and every one including a student midwife was so attentive and caring. I followed hypnobirthing as I did with my first pregnancy and this was met with great understanding and acceptance. Having had four previous losses this pregnancy and delivery was an anxious time for me however at all times I felt that I was in good hands with people that cared and had mine and babies interest at heart.
I was advised my baby would be big however at 9lb 12oz he was bigger than I thought and it was with the help of the midwives and their knowledge and encouragement that he made it here safely and was born at 11:45am.
Thank you to all involved in mine and babies care. I will never forget the part you all played in helping me bring my baby boy home.
