"The service they give us is the best to none"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency Lincoln County Hospital / Medical emergency assessment unit (MEAU) Lincoln County Hospital / Respiratory medicine Lincoln County Hospital / X-ray and Scans

(as a service user),

I arrived via the doctors with a letter . I had being discharged fit and well . I was readmitted 2 weeks later via a letter and a visit to GP . I had no idea that I  was unwell again.  My temperature was raised but not that high thought I had another chest infection, that was all .

I was admitted, had 4 lots of bloods, taken oxygen given, placed on an IV antibiotics for sepsis and chest infection again. I was taken to XRay then CT scan for a contrast dye scan . Although my vein did burst during the scan the team were brilliant and a new canular was placed and scan continued. I felt guilty as knew other people were waiting but told by staff not to worry .

I was placed on Meau whilst waiting a bed on Witham Ward Respiratory again. I waited 24 hours plus for a bed but was made as comfortable as possible.  The staff in A & E are so hard working, they go without breaks properly to make sure that the service they give us  is the best to none . I feel it's a shame that so many people have forgotten that A&E is accident and Emergency rather than Anything and Everything.

Once on Meau the care was best to none. I spent 5 days on that ward then moved to Witham Ward where I spent 5 days. Again the treatment and care given by nurses, doctors, health care, catering staff, housekeeping was fantastic.  It makes you realise that we still have an NHS that this country should be proud of. They all work over their contract hours without batting an eye lid.
