"Professional Care"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency Ninewells Hospital / Acute Medical Unit (AMU)

(as a service user),

NHS 24 directed me to A&E at Ninewells (Dundee) Hospital. I had some heart pain and stiff jaw.

All the staff in A&E through to ward 15 were fantastic and professional. Some of the nurses excel in what they do through being kind and compassionate. The porter was really friendly despite his colleague being off and having to do more work.

Many of the nursing staff know just how to speak to different patients and make them feel taken care of.

Non-nursing staff helping in the ward were also really efficient and caring.

I just want to make sure they all know this and how grateful I am for their care and kindness.

Thank you for this feedback - sharing your positive experiences really does make a difference to the staff. I will make sure this is passed on to all the team - both clinical and non clinical staff in AMU (Ward 15). It is so nice for our porters and other non-nursing staff to be recognised for the contribution they make to patients.

I hope you are feeling better and recovering after your hospital stay.

Linda Nicol, Senior Nurse, AMU/SSM
