I had a colonoscopy at the Mid Ulster Hospital in Magherafelt. Everything about the appointment was positive and all staff were knowledgeable, professional, helpful and extremely caring.
From the meeting to check personal details through the explanation of the procedure, all was explained carefully and any questions I had were answered fully and in detail.
All of the nursing staff were friendly and supportive explaining all steps of the appointment as it progressed. I felt secure and supported at all times. At no time was I left feeling I was just another patient passing through - it was a really reassuring atmosphere with committed and caring professionals. My wife who accompanied me to the appointment also felt included and supported at all times.
During the procedure I never felt insecure or unaware of what was going on and was regularly asked if I was comfortable or had any questions.
Afterwards I was very well looked after and on discharge I was reassured about what had taken place and what to expect over the next few days. All of the paperwork I was given was clearly explained and I felt able to ask questions about any details I wanted explained. The tea and toast was very much appreciated after having very little food over the days preceding the appointment!
