I wanted to write this story, because I feel that people who did incredible work to care and support others should be recognised.

I have just given birth to my son and the midwife throughout my pregnancy has been Cheryl-Anne. She is full of humour, understanding and warmth and has gone above and beyond in her support towards me and my husband. On the day of my c-section, she made sure she was there to help me and explained everything that was going to happen. She is exactly what makes the NHS the institution that it is. 

All of the midwives who work at Ninewells Ward 38 should be praised for their professionalism and care. They are amazing! I think it is important that this is championed.

I am delighted to hear the care delivered to you had such a positive effect on your overall care experience and it is wonderful to hear Cheryl-Anne could be with you for the birth of your son as well as provide care throughout your pregnancy. I will pass on your kind words to Cheryl-Anne and share with the wider team so they can hear how continuity of carer made such a difference for you.

The team in ward 38 work hard to deliver care with kindness and compassion. I will pass on your kind words to the team. Please know your feedback will be very welcome and I am sure will demonstrate to the team the difference they make for women and families every day.
