I recently attended the Outpatient Rheumatology Clinic. My height / weight / blood pressure was taken by a nurse called Orla.
Orla was professional, very caring and compassionate. My blood pressure was high. Orla asked that I came back to her after I'd been seen by the consultant and she would take it again.
I went back to Orla at the end of my appointment (had to have a chest x-ray and a number of bloods taken after speaking to the consultant). My blood pressure had come down, but was still slightly high.
Due to Orla's open, friendly and caring nature I started to chat to her about some work pressures, and ended up in tears. I can't thank Orla enough for her genuine care and compassion.
On her advice I have since attended my GP and my blood pressure is within normal range again, and I am mindful of the impact of work pressures and the impact on my health.
Thanks Orla, for going above and beyond to support me that day!
