I sustained an injury to my finger at home which needed medical treatment and was suitable to avail of the new MIU at Altnagelvin hospital in WHSCT.
I was given a time to attend that evening and was seen and initially assessed within 30 minutes of my arrival. I had an X-ray and my wound subsequently numbed, cleaned, stitched, dressed and discharged with advice, all within 90minutes!
The staff were friendly, professional and extremely helpful, especially Brian, the ENP, who was so knowledgeable, explaining everything he was doing.
