I went in for a gastroscopy and I've had a colonoscopy a week later. The first procedure was the gastroscopy and everything went really well. I just had gas and air and the nurses were really helpful and nice, I couldn't say one thing that was that could have been better.
Then I had the colonoscopy. Unfortunately it wasn't successful as they couldn't get all the way up the large bowel. It was more painful than I had expected, I would have thought the sedation would have made me feel less pain. But apart from that, all the staff was so friendly and so nice and it was a shame they couldn't finish the procedure but this was for safety reasons not the staff's fault at all.
The reason they stopped the procedure was they were worried if they continued there maybe a perforation of the bowel. I just wanted to say thank you. I'll be going back in to have a scan with the dye to carry on the investigations.
