"Very poor communicate "

About: Yeovil District Hospital

I spent 7 days on a bed in a corridor where staff are up and down which is not suitable in eau. I finally got on a ward and another 3 weeks before I got the tests on my heart and lungs. The staff are amazing but the way the actual system is ringing is useless. I was given different information about my diagnosis from so many different doctors which is confusing at the best. When I finally got to be discharged I spent 3 and half hours in the discharge lounge waiting for my medication which just about finished an awful time in Yeovil hospital. I will confirm that the staff everywhere in Yeovil hospital are tremendous and do an excellent job in very difficult conditions

I apologise that you spent so long in the corridor on EAU, our aim is to keep patients in the corridor beds for as little time as possible and a risk assessment and review is undertaken to ensure patients are appropriate.

I will feedback your experience to the ward team to remind them of the importance of ensuring patients are not spending more than 24/48 hours in the corridor beds. We know these are not ideal but due to ongoing escalation within the trust they continue to be in use.

Thank you for your comment on the excellent job that all of the staff do.

I hope you are recovering well at home
