In all honesty, I was not sure what to expect as I had never really experienced a hospital before, other than visiting, and had visions of waiting and waiting. After an initial wait, my fault as I went to the wrong place, I was greeted by Yvonne who took me into a room and briefed me as to what was going to happen followed by some tests. Despite trying to look nonchalant, I was a tad nervous, and this is where Yvonne stepped up to the mark and demonstrated what the NHS is all about. Her very calming presence immediately made me feel relaxed and knowing I was in safe (and very soft) hands. I was reassured at every stage, despite Yvonne having difficulty getting blood from me. The rapport made me feel I had known Yvonne for sometime. Dr Nair also deserves a mention for the calming and caring way she withdrew the information about my situation from me. Very compassionate at every step of the way. My experience has left me with nothing but admiration for way these angels go about their business whilst maintaining a friendly and professional outlook at all times. Even now, after the event, I still have pleasant memories of my visit to Ninewells. Thank you so much Yvonne, you're are an absolute star and thank you also Dr Nair - you both made my day out to Ninewells Stoke Unit a day to remember for all very good reasons.
