From initial shock of being diagnosed with severe dilated cardiomyopathy I was referred to cardiology at BDGH where I was also referred to Freemans Hospital at Newcastle.
I also came under care of the heart matron based at Retford hospital which consisted of Louise and Kathleen. These ladies were a consistent reassurance for me. I knew anytime I had any concerns I could ring them, which was quite often. These ladies helped me so much at the lowest, hardest time in my life. During my diagnosis I had to cope with the sudden death of my father then having to put my mother in a care home then losing my very much loved job. Kathleen and Louise were so supportive to me when I needed it most. Alongside Dr Chadro and the Freemans Hospital and Sheffield where I had an internal defibrillator fitted.
I am now showing signs of improvement with the medication prescribed. It has been a tough ride but God bless this team. Forever Grateful.
