"Don't believe the waiting lists they publish"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

After suffering for over a year, I was finally referred for surgery by my GP on 3rd April 2023. I chased from June (Initial letter said to contact them in June 2023 if I hadn't heard anything)

I was told they hadn't even gotten around to looking at my referral yet. I chased several times after this with no joy.

I got progressively worse and in October I had to go back to my GP because I couldn't take it anymore. He changed my referral to urgent. I had a phone consultation with the surgeon at the beginning of December and it was agreed that it was urgent...then radio silence.

It's now over a year since my initial referral- the MyPlannedCare website says average waiting time for treatment is 20 weeks. What a joke.
