"Good care under dire circumstances! "

About: Northwick Park Hospital

Admitted with suspected stroke documentation sent from Ealing so I was admitted quickly - to the corridor in A&E!

I spent almost 13 hours there along with so many others waiting for a bed to become available on the ward - the corridors were lined with patients.

At no point did I feel neglected - the staff coped calmly and efficiently under these extremely busy and stressful conditions.

They deserve better and so do we the patients and tax paying public!

Dear Service User,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us.

I'm glad to read that the staff were calm and efficient and you didn't feel neglected.

We recently saw a rise in demand for emergency care after the Easter bank holiday, leading us to briefly enter level 4 of the operational pressures escalation levels framework. This allowed us to ask our partners across north west London for an additional level of support and has eased pressures. We also expect our new acute medical unit at Northwick Park to help us manage patient flow and relieve some of the pressure when it opens at the end of this month.

I have shared your feedback with the A&E team.

Kind Regards,

Emma Calnan - Patient Experience Officer
