On January 10th I was admitted to LRI for plastic surgery following a biopsy that proved positive for melanoma.
As I had only recently started having panic attacks and very high BP, I was extremely nervous.
From the minute of my arrival to the point of discharge I was treated with utmost care and professional attention. The receptionist for theatre admissions had about thirty patients waiting and each of us was treated calmly and efficiently, as if we were the only person that mattered at that moment. From then on the nurses admitting me, the surgeon, the anaethetist and his assistant could not have been more caring and kind. The nurses on the recovery and discharge wards continued this exceptional role of care and attention. I short, I was tremendously greatful for the care I received that day, which was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life, but made so much easier by the professional care of every member of the team. I could not fault anyone at any point.
This week I was given the good news that I am now cancer free and need no further treatment and I was able to thank my consultant in person, but I would like this extended to the whole team.
I do thank you all.
Sue Grant.
"Thank you"
