I waited 3 years for my hysterectomy and finally the date came through it was a same day admissions. I felt so anxious & sick the staff there were so lovely I cannot thank them enough.
I had so much questions running through my mind but deep down I kept saying in my head I’m not doing this I’m returning back home and wasn’t going through with it at all. Until I met Dr Bain, my consultant.
Dr Bain was so lovely and professional, this was the first time I had met her, she answered every question I had in my head without me having to ask her. I spoke with her for maybe 30-40 mins her and her number 2 was so nice they made all my thoughts of running back home go away I was so much at ease now and less anxious!
I cannot thank Dr Bain enough for what she has for me, I know the surgery was complicated but she done it, a true hero although I’m in pain the now (recovery) I have suffered pain for many years and I know once I recover I won’t have that pain anymore and it’s thanks to her!
Each and every staff member from Gynae unit in the GRI were amazing from the theatre staff to recovery staff and the ward staff and a special thanks to Lauren the student she will make a fab nurse one day, the care I got from her was amazing too!
