I recently attended surgery with a concern and was quickly told it was nothing to be concerned about. I was told to go away and contact if it got worse (but was told it wouldn't get worse), which it did! I then had to arrange an emergency out of hours appointment to be told I had a bad infection which would require a steroid cream and treatment. I am unhappy, as this isn't the first time I have attended an appointment to be told there is nothing that can be done and in actual fact, there is something that can be done, so why should I suffer? I feel as though I am made to feel like a nuisance or hypochondriac and my concerns are irrational. The appointments are so short and I don't feel like I am given the care required for the conditions I have presented. I am not happy with the service and at this point will be looking at an alternative surgery to register with which is unfortunate. I do not think the service given is adequate and due to this have been forced to emergency appointments and even A&E for something which should have been dealt with in my appointment with a GP.
