"My dad being supported with end of life care at home"

About: Banbridge / District Nursing Enhanced Care / Community Specialist Palliative Care Team

(as a carer),

We had amazing support from the Banbridge District nursing team, Marie curie and the specialist palliative care team.

They were honest with us and supported us at every stage. We met a lot of different staff out of hours but they were all well informed on my dad’s condition and treated him as an individual. They supported the whole family throughout the process. As my dad’s needs increased the level of support was stepped up.

We felt really lucky that our named district nurse was on call the weekend my dad died and it was comforting to have that friendly face in our time of need.

I am very sorry to hear about the death of your father.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

I am pleased to hear you found the support of all the teams beneficial at a time of great vulnerability and need. They really do want to support and aim to provide individualised, quality care for all.

If there is any further support we can offer you in terms of bereavement or follow up, please do let us know.

Gerard
